The guy I got it from had it installed when they done the paint and body work. I believe both sides are the reproductions that are offered but not 100% sure about that.

The part I have problem with is the lower metal strip is bad on our 4 speed Jetfire. I am willing to bet the passenger side is bad also. I thought if the entire thing is the same I would would just replace and not repair.

I thought all Skylark were hardtop? The one I am looking at is hard top like the Jetfire. I believe the top is the same but did not know if there was enough difference in the door that it required Buick to have a different glass.

Getting set up

I never found one in my 62 4 speed car and I am sure it had never been apart before me. The back seat of our automatic 62 has never been out so not sure on that one.

These three parts tags are the only thing I found in our 4 speed car.

Just found something interesting. The manual transmission Jetfire cars have a rubber plug in the air cleaner where the choke tube would go for an automatic car. For now I have priced this car at $32K. After the World of Wheels show in February I have just a couple more things to do to it and it will be ready to go. We will likely list it on eBay sometime in March if we still have it then.

I really need to pick up a 63 Manual. You would think I would have one by now but I only have the fuel and intake section that was copied. I did just download the 63 assembly manual from The Automotive History Preservation Society. I need to download the 63 Manual till I pick up a hard copy.

Jim will have better answers then me but I believe for that valve you could get away with most any type of reinforced diaphragm material if you can find it thin enough. It would have minimal if any liquid ever get to it but it would be good if it were compatible with methanol. How will you crimp it back together?

Got the Hood insulation and the fluid bottle bracket installed today. Changing oil now to get the brake in oil out of it. Sure wanting to take it for another drive but the weather will not allow that. Snow and salt on the roads everywhere now.

Just am update,
I got the fluid tank fixed up real good now. Ended up bead blasting it inside and out. I could not get all of the inside done so I used some muriatic acid on it also. I used the Red Kote tank liner and now the tank is as good as new. Repainted it and added the decal. Also repainted the air cleaner gloss black while painting the…[Read more]
