If the carpet is in good shape but only faded, I have found that the SEM flexible coatings work great for the carpet. I have done two carpet sets with it and both turned out excellent.
As for your first question about the washer hoses, both of my 62 cars have the original hoses and have the yellow stripe.

I have used that on carpet sets and console parts before but never tried it on a headliner.

Mine looks alot like that. The one in our 4 speed car is good but is stained from it being a smokers car. It is not coming clean and before I try getting more aggressive with it I want to be sure I have options if I ruin it. I used Goop hand cleaner on most of the cars interior but don’t want to try it on the headliner. I would have no way of…[Read more]

Does anyone make a correct headliner or at least the correct material for the 62 Jetfire? Can an NOS one in white be found?

It makes me reconsider my plans for our 4 speed car. If the price continues to go up or at least level off at these prices I may end up restoring it. I have no plans to sell it but I did not want to restore it and have more in it than it is worth. It is starting to look like I will be safe.
Congratulations on selling both cars today Mike! That…[Read more]

New information! I am not allowed to share the documents yet but I now have the documents for 62 and 63 in my possession. I am allowed to tell what is in them, I just can not duplicate the document electronically or photocopy them.
The 63 Jetfire transmission brake down is as follows.
Hydromatic 4406

I just picked up the NOS mirror from ebay that was listed. It had no box and was missing the hardware. Does anyone have a good used gasket and mounting bracket? I am installing this one on the automatic car and will likely install that one on our 4 speed car. My 4 speed car does not have a mirror so I will need the mounting bracket and gasket. I…[Read more]

For the most part you have to rebuild what is there. You are not going to find anything that is a bolt on replacement of the original parts. Jim Noel can rebuild the entire system for you. You can find his ad in the classifieds section.

I have been looking for an NOS washer jar since 2011 and finely found one. I am sure some of you seen this one on eBay but it was way over priced. He lowered his price and added a best offer after a couple weeks. I shot him an offer and he took it! I will likely put this one on the automatic car and that one on this 4 speed car. I get as excited…[Read more]

It is best to get the 63 Oldsmobile service manual. It don’t have the best pictures but is better than you will find on the net. You can also join Wild about Cars. I believe it has a fee but it has the 63 assembly manual that you can download to your computer. it is not that user friendly but Wildaboutcars may be the best way to go because they…[Read more]

Very cool dand! I have a friend that is into GN’s and we have been talking about this very thing. Would like to find an 85 non inter-cooled version to put in a 62. You will likely have to upgrade the rear end though. Would be great to see a thread on the project. Keep us posted.
