You need a controller to provide 12volts to the 200c in order for the lockup to engage. I haven’t looked back in this post but I think we discussed the B&M adjustable lock up controller that integrates with your stop light switch, or you can just use a manual switch to provide power.

I believe the 200r4 is the same, someone can confirm.

    The 2…[Read more]

Just tried it on my iMac/safari/google and it works as you said.
Must be the mobile version on the iPad giving me trouble.

    Thanks.

Doesn’t work like that for me Joe. I’m using an apple Ipad and Safari browser to get to google so maybe that’s the problem.

    What OS are you using?

So I reached the same conclusion Jim did on this lack of search and stopped my previous crusade. It would be nice to have the resident search but this forum is run at no charge and is a nice platform available to us.

Regarding the google search it does seem to work ok with an inconvenience factor I noted.
I may be wrong here but when you find…[Read more]

Thanks Jim, I was afraid of that. I have a couple of two seat convertibles where there is either no or or very little of it taking place, but the ballooning and occasional flap is there even with the much smaller top.

Maybe try the exit window strategy above and see if that makes a difference. Friend has a 72 Cutlass on loan and he says he…[Read more]

Thanks for the info. Good luck with the work.
On the coast in CA and plan to drive some with top up this winter so hoping for a solution or if necessary “ oh well- that’s the way they are.”

When the website was “updated” the Search function that previously existed at the bottom of the page was deleted for some reason.

The search at the top of the page does not search post topics or keywords. Only brings up the same articles no matter what you search for.

I asked the webmaster to reinstate but never received an answer. You cou…[Read more]

The picture is too close in to get a full idea of what’s going on. Pull back and get a good focus please.

Maybe get a pic of how it is connected to the exhaust manifold too.

Can’t really tell but is the copper tube just hanging in the air up there and not connected?

Just got my new top. Robbins Stayfast/canvas top. Zip out rear window. Looks great. Nice and tight. New side cables in place. New pads, new front tack strip, new weatherstrip, old top full removed, refinished/adjusted/lubed top frame. Just had my first drive home from the top shop.

Problem is when I hit about 45+ with the drivers window down it…[Read more]

There should be something available off the shelf for you. I got a set of compliant urethane with the locating budge that fit my orig straps on my 13/16” bar. Rare Parts researched it for me.

Got those after getting a set of the only others I found that everyone sells that’s a smash into the strap style with no locating bulge.

Joe you’re right, the carb choke of that type pulls vacuum. Your description is correct.
However, the exhaust manifold isn’t pulling or have vacuum, the carb is pulling vacuum. The exhaust manifold tube simply provides heated air for the carb vacuum.

For some reason I can’t post in the original post, the system keeps kicking me out after I log in.

The road draft tube is an engine breather and comes from the passenger valve cover (sometimes the intake or other places on cars) on these cars I believe. It accesses and expels crankcase fumes. There is a air intake on the drivers side valve cover…[Read more]
