I just installed the Noel exhaust tips. Looks great. The Waldron exhaust system fits real good. The only thing I don’t like is the flange for the turbo mount. I had to put longer studs in the turbo outlet for the flange to fit. Or I could of ground out the inside diameter of the flange, but it was too much work. Not the correct looking flange.

The JetFire Lives! After breaking in the cam, I acually drove the car today. It really moves! I would like to thank everyone here who helped me with parts and information. And, of course, Jim Noel, who has saved these cars from extinction. Jim, I have had these hose clamp pliers for 40 years, and don’t know where I got them. I will keep updating…[Read more]

Thanks Jensen, but I found a vent on Ebay and installed it. Just lucky I guess.
Got The Turbo from Jim today! I have most of it hooked up. Tomorrow I will finish the connections and the exhaust system, fill the fluids, and maybe start it up this weekend. I am using braided lines for the fuel and oil feed, just easier for now.

Greg Oakley started the topic "A" piller molding on some Jetfires in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 12 years, 1 month ago
I can see in some photos, some Jetfires seem to have a stainless steel molding, or silver paint, covering the A pillar next to the windsheild, ending at the roof. Is this an option or what? Jim, your Tan car looks to have it also, in the above photo. What is that?

Greg Oakley replied to the topic rear end gear ratios in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 12 years, 1 month ago
I found the axle codes in the 63 Assembly manual. There is a stamped code on the rear cover edge, passenger side, at the 3 o’clock position. Mine is C-201. The C means 3.36, the 201 is the Julian date code (day number of the year). The only other codes are A for 3.08, B for 3.23. Posi rears would have a X in a circle before the codes. Hope this helps.

You can mark the driveshaft and tire and spin the tire 1 revolution and count have many times the dive shaft rotates. That would be the ratio.

Making progress. Thanks to members of this site I was able to get some of the missing pieces I needed. Fluid tank, Spare fluid bottle (original one) radiator upper hose. Just 1 thing missing in the middle of the motor, but should be soon. Jims working on it!

I went ahead and ordered one. What am I complaining about? I’m just glad to be able to get one. I have a 30+ year old hose on the car now. Eric is a hero to all Jetfire owners. Thanks so much for taking on this project and getting these hoses made!

I checked with them. They want $54.50 each! thats almost twice the price of repro hoses for other Oldsmobiles. They look good though, just real pricey.

Thanks very much. I am not really restoring the car, I am just fixing what needs fixing right now. I rebuilt the motor, Jim Noel is rebuilding the turbo. The interior has new carpet, re-uphostered front seats with NOS vinyl and also armrests, thats all. Everything else is original. I am having the gas tank boiled out at the radiator shop now, the…[Read more]
