Couple blown up factory photos. Sadly, one is a display motor and has not decal or markings and the other is not turned quite right, lol . I think I can figure it out but just not tonight.

That is interesting. The 63 barn car I drug home over a year ago was on the other side but that car had around 100,000 miles so someone could have moved it. Not sure if this one would have been strictly followed on the assembly line but for sure interesting. I had never even thought of this routing before. My 62 4 speed car was around the rounded…[Read more]

Actually, I have decided to not even bid on it. I just want to drive the price way down on it. Hope someone gets it for dirt cheap

Just a heads up to everyone. I had a deal worked out with this guy to go pick this car up. Had a price settled and all. I was trying to go pick it up Saturday morning. He said he had a title and the engine runs. Now he will not return my messages and posted it on eBay. On eBay he says he has no title and the transmission is not in it. I would…[Read more]

Those numbers are for sure Jetfire parts from the white car. I have the 62 Jetfire engine I posted on Facebook and still undecided if I will sell it. I am working on getting another Jetfire parts car and if I get it I would likely sell the engine and turbo setup from that car but it is a 63. Still correct but the numbers would be for 63 instead of 62.

Looks like that one is not a Jetfire engine either. You may post a picture of all the parts. Maybe we could point out some Jetfire specific parts if there are any? I guess you may already know what you are looking for since you have another Jetfire.

Just have to gather all the parts but you can for sure convert it back to turbo. Hopefully the other engine is the turbo engine. You may have some of the parts to convert it back if you got parts with it. The exhaust manifolds, fluid tank, air cleaner, valve covers, and turbo system can be located if you don’t have them. I have not got a quote yet…[Read more]

For any of you purist out there, I have looked for an original boot for the positive battery cable for a long time. All the repops I have ever found were not even close to the original. Well, I just found them! In the Fusick 1935 to 1960 catalog it is part number SCC46 and looks to be exactly the same. I will be ordering one with my next order of…[Read more]

The Borg Warner shifters can be found on eBay for other models but they are usually very high priced. I have two of them from low mile cars and both have these center pins really loose. I would imagine most of them on eBay are loose as well.

Yes. Both are the same. These Borg Warner shifters are sure not the best shifter ever made but I am going to make it work the best I can. After it is done and installed I have another shifter he thinks he can make even better. I didn’t want to go that far with my original shifter but I may turn him loose on the other one. No mater what he does to…[Read more]

I just got a little update, I am having a new pin made for the original 4 speed shifter that we think with make it a little tighter than original and also slide better. He got the drawing made and just sent it to me.

Just a note. Not working on this car at this time. May get back to some little things in a couple weeks or so. My wife had major surgery on her back. Had rods put in from L4 to C4. It is a 19 inch incision with two cobalt rods and lots of titanium screws. That was two weeks ago today but she still is not moving much. The surgeon wants her walking…[Read more]

I sent mine to Winslow MFG http://www.winslowmfg.net/ and they rebuilt mine. I had them do the one on my other Jetfire and was fine, I had them do one for a 70 442 W-30 and it came back off about 10 degrees and had to remark it. I have not been able to check this one yet and will be later this summer before I can.

The core is very likely bad like they are saying. Be sure they have the ability to use your old top and bottom rails as well as the original tanks. Some radiator shops can’t do this. My radiator shop can order cores without the rails and reuse the originals. On the one I just had done for my 4 speed car they sent the rails to the core manufacturer…[Read more]

The 63 assembly manual says the manifolds, manifold to turbo and at least the top half of the pipe leaving the turbo are all aluminum. I don’t really have a document that says the 62 is the same way but I believe it was. Both of my pipes still had some aluminum paint left on them so I would think it was the same.

Blasted the manifolds and painted them with POR-15 exhaust manifold paint. I used this on our automatic car but used the manifold gray color. It has held up very well so decided to use it again. Just this time in aluminum color. When I done her car I didn’t know they were supposed to be aluminum color. I prefer the cast color myself. I am not a…[Read more]

Got my radiator and heater core back yesterday. I had them order the core without top and bottom rails so we could use the originals with the holes. I always have them do this but usually they have extra solder at the ends of the rails when I get them back. I told him this was going on a high end restoration so he decided to send the rails off to…[Read more]
