I will be listing a turbo induction system for sale in the classifieds as soon as I can figure out how to get the ad posted. The Turbocharger is a NOS unit right out of the AiResearch box! Watch for the ad soon.

What does your firewall tag say? Is it a 3167=Cutlass convertible or a 3147= Jetfire? The rest is urban legend. There are other ways to check out the car too. Engine block and head codes, differential code, drive shaft style etc. But, I would say it a Jetfire body trimmed Cutlass, after the date of manufacture.

Jim Noel replied to the topic Need gray carpet set for 62 Jetfire in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 10 years, 2 months ago
Hi Guys,
The 1962 Jetfires all used solid color carpet sets that were molded. The Cutlass used a two tone or “salt & pepper” carpet set, also molded. I have not had good luck with the fit of aftermarket cut and sew sets. However, others might have done better or not been so fussy! The 971 trim used a gray loop pile carpet set. Fusick’s lists the…[Read more] -

Have recently discovered that the primary valve body in my automatic transmission has a problem. I am in need of the primary valve body for a Jetfire Hydra-Matic that has the transmission code OX5 on the ID plate.
I elected to stay with the original trans in this car but know that several of you Jetfire owners have swapped out the original auto…[Read more] -
Jim Noel replied to the topic Have you seen this difference in 62? Cross Members in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 10 years, 5 months ago
Hi Eric,
There were at least 3 different styles of cross members to hold the trans back to the frame. Early and late manual and auto. -

My latest project car is out and running! About two weeks too late for the OCA Nationals last month. Oh well, maybe next year?
For now, I will not put the white vinyl top back on, like the car better all chariot red! -

Hi Eric,
Congratulations! VERY rare car! This is only the third original 4 speed ’62 Jetfire that I have in my car records! Will be a great/rare car when running. Are the wheels 15″?
Have fun, Jim -

My parts books shows different part numbers for the ’62 and ’63 gas tanks. I do not know what the difference is though. Station wagon is different too.
Attached are some pics of my 1962 convertible gas tank, a few wrinkles and a fuel return pick-up system. -

Interior is almost done, just some rear quarter window adjustments needed. Here are some pics to date. - Load More
