The long delay is almost over! Re-coat of the turbine housing and by-pass cover is done. Should have a complete 1962 induction system back to Greg soon. Another Jetfire turborocket back to life!

I just received two sets of radiator hoses from Fusick’s. They look GREAT! Thanks for your persistent work to accomplish this task! All cross flow radiator owners will be grateful!

The “A” pillar is covered with a stainless steel molding when the vinyl top option was ordered on a Jetfire or Cutlass. It has the same appearance as the S.S. “A” pillar molding used on all convertibles but the attachment tabs are different. The two tone painted cars have the top color on the “A” pillar (usually white).

Good find! To make the 4-speed (Borg Warner T-10) fit, you will need to shorten the front section of the driveshaft. You will also need to modify the front floor pan (sometimes called the hump) to accommodate the 4-speed and shifter. When you get to that point, I would suggest you find an auto/4-speed cross member. Should not be that hard to find. Many automatic cars being sold as parts. If you don’t have any luck, I will measure and let you know then.

The simple answer is; your 3-speed cross member can be modified to work with a 4-speed.I have attached pic’s of the mounting cross members for the 3-speed and auto. The 1961 and early 1962 manual trans bell housings were only made for the three speed trans. The back face and ears are too small to add 4 more holes to fit a 4 speed. This includes all 1962 and 63 Jetfires, all 1963 F-85’s with A/C and all 1963 F-85’s that were ordered with the “Special duty Engine Cooling” option V-01. I do not have the exact measurement for the placement of the end of the tips extending beyond the back of the car. I have one factory pic of a side profile where a tip shows and the tip is less extended than I mount them on the Jetfires I have restored.
