I couldn’t remember where all I heard it but I know one time was at Homecoming last summer. This is something I wanted to look into for a long time but was never in a position to be able to. With my car home and apart and the 61 still here (I am about to scrap the 61) then I figured I had better do it now.

Found another inspection mark on a 3.36 rear end. Yellow just under the fill plug. I wonder if it is to confirm that the fill plug was tightened?

The body guy matched the original over spray amount really well. I have seen some cars with more than this and some with less. This car you could hardly tell just how much was there but there were some places that still give clues. The body guy thought I was crazy to want the over spray. He likes hard lines.

I have several parts cars with drums still on them but don’t have a tool to measure if they have been turned and still good. All of them have rust pitting on the outside.

I know 62 and also 64/65 has them. So far, nobody has found them on 63. These are not reproduced and have already sold some to 65 442 guys.

I have not found a good carpet set for these cars yet that I am happy with. I no longer even try. I only restore the original carpet. If it is not completely rotten then clean it really well. I even pressure wash them and keep it in the sun to dry for a few days. When it is really clean just use SEM fabric paint on it. It takes nearly a full can…[Read more]

Does anyone know what the difference is between the control arms for the 63 verses the 61 and 62? The parts book shows a different part number for the 61-2 verses the 63.

With shipping I am well over $400 for all the bushings for the rear end. I guess there is no other option? Now I regret removing my old ones. Pulled the suspension back off the Jetfire and have the shell on the lift. I decided to weigh the shell. I did not pull the doors off or the trunk lid off but I did weigh a door from a parts car that was gutted just like the ones on the car. This is actually the correct color but it is base clear. Also, the original metallic in her paint you can’t hardly see anymore. Her paint is faded really bad and the former owners buffed it so much that you can see primer in some places. Sadly, her car really needs repainted but we like it as it is.
