You need to purchase the Oldsmobile Service Manual! They will answer most of your questions.
The resistor for the ignition circuit is built into “ignition wire #1” To remove this resistor you will need to run a new wire from your ignition switch to your coil. -

The ground for this electrical circuit is made by the switch being secured to the metal dash board panel. There is NOT a “wire” that makes the ground for this circuit. Both the wiper motor and switch complete the electrical circuit to ground through the metal parts of the body. For this electrical circuit, the firewall and dash panel. The metal of…[Read more]

Here is a pic of my wiring for a ’62 with 2 speed wipers and no washer.
The second pic (red firewall) is a ’62 with 2 speed wipers with washer.
The purple is also wired up to the washer pump with the addition of a light yellow wire from the harness.
For either option it is left to right, looking at the system, red/pink, purple then green to the…[Read more] -

Hi Greg,
The 4-speed manual trans cars had a factory modified floor pan to accommodate the trans, like an afterthought! The “hump” to accommodate the 4-speed trans and floor shiftier was spot welded to the floor pan, after the original floor pan “hump”, made to fit a 3-speed or automatic trans, was cut out. A real Rub Goldberg modification! The…[Read more] -

Hi Greg,
I can’t say for sure but I don’t think the original carpet sets for a ’62 Jetfire had any edge binding sewn around the edges. I have bought three ’62 Jetfire sets of “original” NOS carpets from Harry Samuel and they were all molded and do not have edge binding. Here are a couple of pics of ’62 Jetfire (automatic trans) NOS carpet sets…[Read more] -

Hi Greg,
I understand that for the ’63 Jetfire’s, some were painted black and some were body color, under the hood. I have not seen or heard of a ’62 with black, I think all were body color. For some time I thought that the black under hood painted cars all came from one build site but you have disproven that thought of mine now. A real bonus to…[Read more] -

Hi Greg,
I assume this is the Antique Rose Jetfire that was recently offered on eBay? If so, really nice looking Jetfire!
Are you going to “clean it up”?
Have fun, Jim -

I can rebuild your Jetfire turbo system, if you have one. If not, I can supply the complete turbo intake system and intake manifold for a 62 or 63 Jetfire. Just let me know what your needs are.

Hi Charles,
If you want to stay with a white sidewall tire in 13″ you are really limited to what is available. There is a nice looking 185x80x13″ WSW passenger tire. You can get them for about $100/tire..Even available on eBay. I have not found anything wider in 13″ with white…[Read more] -

If you need new armrest bases, they are cheap! Chevy people have reproduced and sell at many sites. Here is one for $35/pr http://www.lategreatchevy.com/full-size-chevy-armrest-bases-chrome-hardtop-or-convertible-impala-1962-1964.html#close

Great find Eric! My efforts 34 years ago could not get this info! Hope you go after the ’63 Jetfire data too. Would be interesting if they had records for all the F-85’s. Keep us posted.
